Description

Poster chart shows a map of New Zealand, shaped according to the population of each electorate, the South Island therefore being considerably smaller than the North Island. The text states that the map was devised by Professor R G Lister and drawn by Mr G A H Kidd, both of the University of Otago's Geography Department, at the request of the Otago Daily Times. A chart at the left shows the change in the number of electorates from 1858 to 1962, with the increase in North Island and Maori populations.
