- Description
Shows a small cottage perched high on the banks of a river, possibly the Waikato. The cottage has one chimney, windows and doors along the front under the verandah, which faces the river, and is sheltered by trees and bush. The banks of the river are high, and mountains are visible in the background
Very similar to the small watercolour that appears on the album on page 6 (E-943-q-006); it is reasonable to assume it is the same building and place, as it is also identified as being in Hamilton, in 1885. Cherie Connell's father died in 1859; it is possible her mother, B. Connell, moved to Hamilton sometime afterward.
