Two drawings. On the left is Sir Joseph Ward stepping off a gangplank, holding up his hand in a gesture of denial to Uncle Sam and an Indian of North American woman, representing Canada. The pair are holding a placard headed U S Canadian reciprocity agreement. Ward appears to be indicating that the agreement has no relevance. On the right, is a very small Ward lecturing three much larger men, who look variously amused and concerned. The men are likely to be leaders of Commonwealth countries and allied present at the Imperial Conference in London in 1911. The central figure may be Theodore Roosevelt
