Panorama photograph taken by R P Moore at the Royal reception for the Duke and Duchess of York, Cooks Garden in Whanganui, 1927.
Shows thousands of spectators around edge and in formation in central grassed area, including uniformed Armed Forces, bands, adults and children. Grandstand in centre on far side of grounds. Rostrum in centre foreground for official guests and dignitaries. Beyond the sports ground are houses, trees, and conspicuous factory chimney stacks. Foothills in the distance.
