Sir Joseph Ward pointing towards a vast crowd of potential immigrants to New Zealand. He is surrounded by frozen rabbit, cheese, wool, (eggs) laid in New Zealand, coal, gum, gold, grain, frozen mutton, fruit etc, Defiance butter, flax, a deer's head and a large trout. His address is being received with enormous enthusiasm by the crowds at his feet. Behind Ward is seated the Attorney-General, Dr J G Findlay
An original drawing for an illustration which appeared in Hiscocks' publication "Joe Ward abroad" (1911)
Dr Findlay accompanied Ward to the Imperial Conference, London, where Ward urged immigration to New Zealand and emphasised the prosperous nature of New Zealand's economy
