- Description
Shows Andrew Fisher, Prime Minister of Australia signing the 'Magna Charter of Peace' at the Imperial Conference in London in 1911. Beside him, Sir Joseph Ward stands in military uniform, pointing imperiously at the document. He wears a small handbag marked 'surprise package'. Behind the Australian Prime MInister is an Australian flag, but the table at which he sits is covered with the New Zealand flag. Uncle Sam and John Bull (USA and Great Britain) stand behind, holding hands and looking bemused.
