Slides of New Zealand

Transparency slides of New Zealand, some purchased and some taken by Mr E G Williams' (Edmund Gardner Williams'). Purchased slides (nos. 953-954) were taken by [Neville] Hatwell. Slides include images of the Russell Post office, Otehei Bay with the ferry launch "Kewpie Too", and views of the Bay of Islands from the sea including igneous (basalt) rocks. Purchased views of Kaiteriteri Beach and Nelson Harbour; cars in snow at Porters Pass; view of Auckland from Mt Eden; aerial views of Mc Kinnon Pass, Sutherland Falls and crater on Mt Ngauruhoe; then views of Whanganui and the Whanganui River, Kaikoura town, Dunedin and the Shotover River.

Slides on this sheet are numbered 947-971, with nos. 955-960, 962 removed for Mr Williams lecture series. These are filed in a separate sequence.

Arrangement: Mr Williams transferred slides (nos. 955-960, 962) to create a representative collection on New Zealand which he used in lecture series on his return to England.
