Chiefly inward correspondence from Chander Rathod to Mason written during time as an inmate from the Tane Mahuta forensic mental health unit (Porirua). Also letter from Rathod to Hilary Pedersen and to Helen Lloyd. Subjects concern his life in prison, religion, mental health, his children and parents in India, and his wife Saguna (whom he killed in 2004). Includes photograph his two of children in India, newspaper article about Chander and Saguna and their life in New Zealand, and typescript and handwritten draft of Helen Mason's short article titled 'Chandor Singh Rathod'.
Also includes correspondence from Barry Brickell to Helen Mason.
