Scenic views of New Zealand chiefly taken by Government Publicity photographers.
North Island views include the Waitomo Caves system, including the "Waitomo Caves Hostel" (circa 1908); "King Edward's Court" and "Bride's Jewels" in the Ruakuri Cave; and an image of glow-worms. The other main area in the North Island is along the Whanganui River, including small ferry boats, the Makere Houseboat, and a Maori in a dugout canoe. There is one view of Lake Waikaremoana showing the Panekiri Bluff (no. 28); and one view of Seatoun, Wellington, taken circa 1910s.
South Island views are chiefly in the Southern Alps and glacier area on the West Coast. The other main region is lake Kanieri, with a number of images of a small boat named "Dorothy".
