Sketchbook containing mainly pencil drawings but a few in ink, of people in the Arbitration Court, of which there is also a sketch. The people sketched are: Justice Tyndall; E.C. Fussell, Director of the Reserve Bank; F.P. Walsh, Vice President of the Federation of Labour; Hewitt, Employers' representative on the tribunal; Allenby, the Clerk of the Court; McFadden, S.M.; Hanna, S.M. Next is a portrait of Alex Lindsay, Concertmaster of the NZSO. Also included are an unnamed man smoking as he reads and writes; Tom Morrison, rugby administrator and later Chairman of the NZRFU; Harry Squires, Wellington City Missioner and Henry Rudolph, musician. Major General William George Gentry is shown as a vague figure in a sketch of the City Council Chambers and again in a separate sketch. Further people sketched are Councillors Roberts, Bateman, Arthurs, Kitts, Archibald, Arcus, Grigor and Hardy. There are three loose sheets, one a pencil sketch, one, a more complete drawing of a 'Man with a mission' (City Missioner Harry Squires), and the third a sketch of an unidentified man.
