- Description
Cartoon shows three National Party politicians at a circular banqueting table lit with two elegant triple candlesticks. Jenny Shipley expresses a sight tendency towards a lack of appetite at the plight of poorer children in Auckland, while Wyatt Creech comforts her with a pat on the shoulder. Bill English, at left, asks Creech to "Pass the champers [champagne]!"
Above their table a line of flames separates their lighted room from the dark sky above, where items float: hypodermic syringe, crucifix, toilet paper, snake, medicine bottle, "X-Ray" sign, crying baby, skull.
