Description

A young woman has brought her boyfriend home to meet her parents who are relaxing in armchairs reading the paper and a book. The mother looks apprehensive but the father who is reading the sports pages of the newspapers tells her to relax as he has checked the young man out and discovered that he plays a 'tolerably good game for the Oroua Seniors'. Context - The importance of rugby as a tool to measure manhood in New Zealand.
