Description

Humorous pencil sketches of student life at a university sports tournament shows figures playing basketball, table tennis, fencing, hockey, shooting, marathon running. Two men sing beside a beer barrel, beer bottles rise on wings, a man tries to persuade a girl to come to the cemetery with him, a woman throws a wet missile at a man boarding a train ("The Royal Soak"), and the scene is filmed by a man from the National Film Unit.

Assumed to be drawn by Neville Rykers when he was an engineering student at Auckland University. He may have travelled to a University Easter Sports Tournament in another city. There was a Gresham Hotel in Christchurch and in Dunedin.
