Description

Photographs of Gisborne area, Kaiti, Young Nicks Head, Wairoa, and Waikaremoana taken ca 1970s by John Ingle. Views include Gisborne area (listed as Gisbourne), from Kaiti Hill with the Captain Cook Monument, Captain Cook statue, and the harbour from Kaiti Hill, and the ship Capitaine Wallis leaving port because of a sea surge; a meeting house at Wairoa; cabbage tree at James Cowan's birthplace; falls and river on the Waikaremoana Road; the Mohaka Viaduct, and Mohaka Bridge; a bluff on lake Waikaremoana; the Wairoa River; and a stand of redwoods on the Wairoa Road.
