Description

Photographs of Christchurch, Arthur's Pass and Porters Pass taken ca 1960s by John Ingle. There are 15 views of the interior and exterior of the Christchurch Provincial Council Chamber buildings which include the doors to Bellamy's, stained glass windows, the stone Council Chamber with ten detailed closeups of the stonework showing a carved child on a swing, a face amonst foliage, a nightingale, Samuel Wilberforce, a stonemason, a stoat, an eagle, a monkey and a cat all hidden in the foliage by master mason William Brassington; two views of the Scott Memorial at night; the Cass Valley; a mirror image in a lake; Porters Pass; Waimakariri River Valley with the Bealey Range behind.
