- Description
A covering party of Armed Constabulary troopers in the bush, Taranaki. Photograph taken, probably in the 1870s, by Sharp & Sons of Wanganui. They are armed with Snider rifles and carbines, and the man in the centre is inspecting his revolver. Five of the troopers are wearing blankets as kilts, and one is wearing a korowai (tag cloak).
