Caption from the Evening Post, attached to back of print, reads: "Open-air schools are increasing in popularity in New Zealand. The first example in the city is the new infant school at Clifton Terrace, where children and teachers are shown at work. Buildings of a similar type have been erected in the Hutt Valley, and among other schools in the district are today being inspected by members of the Wellington Eduation Board."
