View of the original State Fire Insurance building on the corner of Lambton Quay and Waring Taylor Street. Shows the old L G Porter premises (and the new one at 42 Waring Taylor Street), next to the single storey building of the State Fire Insurance Office. A ladder is on a trolley parked on the street corner.
Large advertisements can be seen on the middle in the middleground, including: Dorothy Dalton in "Green Eyes" at the Artcraft Theatre; H W Lloyd, watchmaker, jeweller and optician; Pears soap; Woods' Peppermint cure; and Herb Price on Willis Street.
