The Parish of Waikanae, formed in 1974 from a subdistrict of the Paraparaumu Parish, contains three churches: St Luke's (the earliest church), St Michael's (Waikanae Beach), and St Andrew's (Reikorangi). Originally self-governing, the three individual vestries in the same year were replaced by one central body.
