Description

Original caption on file print reads: "The extent of the operations of the L.R.D.G (Long Range Desert Group) in which officers and men of the NZEF played a prominent part, may be judged from this map of Libya. The shaded area lying along the Egypto-Libyan border is the "Great Sand Sea" and the patrols were the first miliary force ever to cross it. Uweinat, on the border, Aujila in the north, Kufra in the south, and Musuk and Traghen in the sw, are the landmarks in the journeys of the NZ and British "desert raiders". They also went to the Free French province of Chad, south of Libya, and to the Sudan." Creator of map unidentified. Date of map unknown.
