Description

Photographs taken by an unidentified photographer between June 1973 and December 1973 relating to the construction of the National Library of New Zealand building, Thorndon, Wellington.

Photographs depict: various views of site excavation, retaining work on the excavation walls, installation of concrete, rain damage and site flooding, formwork and steel scaffolding for crane base, erection of the wind tower, testing work by Ministry of Works workshop staff using the Franki pile piling unit, and the raft slab and the buttress walls covered in reinforcing steel.

Each photograph is accompanied by a typescript caption, and a handwritten date.
