- Description
Design drawing for an advertisement for Turners & Growers shows three panels. The top panel is a gouache still life illustration of fruits: strawberries, grapes, apples, pears, peaches, plums, lemons. The centre panel is a collaged and handpainted photograph of the City Markets building in Auckland with cars, trucks and horse-carts parked along two side. The lower panel shows a ripe peach hanging from a branch in the foreground with a field of wheat sheaves behind.
Dated from the time of appearance of an advertisement for the same company in Brett's Christmas number, 1 December 1931.
