Title continues: `...commanding the station in New Zealand, concerning the evdnts which occurred in the Northern district of that island between 4th July, 1844 and the 31st of January 1846'. Writing to the Minister for Naval Affairs, France, he includes a graphic report on Hone Heke's war and ends his reports with a description of Auckland and gives his impression of the state of New Zealand at the time he left for Sydney.
