Maori in a canoe shooting the Tarepokiore rapid on the Whanganui River. Photographed ca 1908 by Thomas Pringle. (Note: inscription reads 'Shooting Outapu [Autapu] rapids. Wanganui River' but library client has identified the location as being the lower Tarepokiore rapid, looking upstream over the pool which separates it from the upper Tarepokiore)
