Description

Begins with friends, Christmas 1988, and friends feature throughout the album. Also includes - A group on the lawn in front of Government House, Wellington. Interior views of no.13 Upland Road, Kelburn, Wellington. A trip to Ohakune featuring Maungarongo Marae and Tikarina Ringapoto meeting house. People at the Marae include weavers and a carver as the building was being enlarged and the addition decorated at the time. Other people include Jonathan Dennis, his mother and staff from the National Film archive. They are photographed in a group in front of the meeting house. Also pupils and Jonathan and associates with a group at Ruapehu College.

Jonathan Dennis established the New Zealand Film Archive. One of the projects undertaken by the archive was the restoration of movie films made in the early 1920s during anthropological expeditions to the Whanganui River funded by the Dominion Museum. Jonathan and his staff were in Ohakune to show the newly restored films at Ruapehu College.
