A photograph taken from the headquarters of the 6th New Zealand Brigade, showing New Zealand `stonks' falling on the strongly held German positions on one of the ridges guarding the approach to Florence. To the left is the location of the village of San Michele. Taken by George Kay on 2 August 1944.
