The word "Principals" on the title page has been inked over on the Library's copy.

Dated ca 1882, despite the fact that the name of the firm became Scoullar & Chisholm in 1880 at the retirement of North. Only Scoullar and Chisholm's names appear on the title page, and one of the designs is dated 1881 (information from William Cottrell, email 17 July 2010).

P McI the artist of some of the plates, may be Peter McIntyre (1862-1932), who arrived in Dunedin in 1879. Note similarity of signature to that on item at C-060-006.

William Cottrell further notes:

Some designs have been copied from G M & H J Story's (1865) catalogue 32 London Wall & 2 Coleman Street, London and some from Wyman's Furniture Gazette mostly 1879-81.

Some lithographs are by Peter McIntyre, and some are by an unknown lithographer with the initials E.F.S. (eg. pages 9-10, 38-39,76, 84-85, 140). The illustrations seem to be in three different styles
