Troops of the ANZAC Mounted Division and their horses, on the beach at Marakeb, Palestine. Probably photographed by Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Guy Powels in September 1917.
Marakeb is a location somewhere near Gaza or Khan Yunis, near or on the coast. New Zealand troops of the ANZAC Mounted Division spent a month there from 18 August to 18 September 1917.
