Description

Members of Stalag 383 on the banks of the Eicher River during their forced march across Germany in 1945. Photograph taken by R H Blanchard.

Note on back of file print reads "Stalag 383 personnel on force march across Germany. At evening the columns on banks of the Eicher River and prepare some sort of meal and wash before being herded into the monastery (see arrow) by guards for the night. Etahausen."

The men would prepare a meal and wash, before being marched into the monastery (on right) for the night.
