New Zealand Divisional Commander, Major General Russell, entering Le Quesnoy, France, on horseback, in the early morning after its capture during World War I. Shows him riding through The Flamengrie (Flemish) Gate of the city after coming from the railway station. Photograph taken on the 5th of November 1918 by Henry Armytage Sanders.

Caption - Caption from album PA1-f-092 reads: "The Divisional Commander enters Le Quesnoy in the early morning after its capture. 4.11.18"
Source of descriptive information - Identification of the Flamengrie Gate, and that the General had come from the railway station by Franck Bruyere, a citizen of Le Quesnoy, in June 2008.
