Description

'Very hasty sketch from [the artist's town] acre done in 5 mins' with numbered features. The view looks from The Terrace out towards Wellington Harbour. The features include the site of Pearse's proposed house, bush that is yet to be cleared, the Tararua Mountains in the distance, the Hutt Valley, the hills behind Eastbourne, a few of the houses in Thorndon, 'Mr Moore's acre' next to Pearse's, and part of The Terrace, below Pearse's section. There are two sailing ships in the harbour. Pearse's land was on the corner of Wellington Terrace and Aurora Terrace
