Shows the oak tree in Silton, Devonshire, known as Judge Wyndham's oak because the 17th century judge used to hold his court under it. The oak tree has a thick, gnarled trunk and hardly any leaves.

Albin Martin was born in Silton and lived there as a farmer, 1844 to 1851 before coming to New Zealand. The oak is named after Judge Hugh Wyndham who purchased an estate at Silton in 1641.
