World map (80N-60S) showing the course of Schiff 16, the German raider Atlantis, during 1940 and 1941. Locations where it captured and sank enemy ships marked on the map and also listed in an inset. The area of operations in the Indian and South Atlantic Oceans are highlighted; map MapColl-100hkm/1940-1/Acc.49787 is an enlargement of this area.
The map shows the route of Schiff 16 south of Australia and New Zealand, between the Auckland and Campbell Islands, then north to the east of the Chathams, in August 1941.
