Description

The cartoon shows the massive figure of Premier 'King' Dick Seddon walking along beside the harbour with an equally massive scarecrow-like figure made out of a sack of flour and paper bags - it represents the 'Flour Trust' and wears a badge reading 'The order of 'The Bath bun', another badge reading 'Cross of Good Friday'; it also carries a baton representing the 'Staff of life'. Much smaller figures of millers and the general public are being trampled by the 'Flour Trust'. Nearby a figure wearing a crown and representing 'Old King Coal' dangles from a crane by the seat of his pants. King Dick tells the 'Flour Trust' that he is looking after things right now and if the 'Flour Trust' misbehaves he will be lifted out of the way like his mate (Old King Coal) over yonder. Refers to the attempts by the 'Flour Trust' , the united strength of about forty flour mills, to create a monopoly which has resulted in the price of flour rising and which threatens mills that have resisted joining the trust.
