At the top of the page: The head and shoulders of Mantell's travelling companion, Alfred Wills, drawn by Mantell. Wills is bearded, and wears a cap and glasses with distinctive rings along the arms. In the centre: the outline of a hill, and possibly a beach (Moeraki?) with rocks at the base of the hill. At the bottom of the page: A profile drawing of Mantell, drawn by F. E. Nairn. Mantell is looking through a theodolite and has Moeraki Pa and settlement behind him.
