Contains diary entries with a particular focus on land dealings, whakapapa, waiata and karakia, cosmological notes including names of Io and names of heavens and the inhabitants thereof, accounts, notes about Maori medicines, notes about migration canoes and related items, lists of names connected with particular land blocks, and a narrative account of a historical conflict involving Te Whakatohea and East Coast tribes
Also contains information about the arrival of (Kingi ?) Mahuta to Otaki, and some Kai Tahu whakapapa.
