Description

Contains letters from Maori to Buller, in his role as a lawyer, with regard to land tenure, finances and other related issues; there are also letters about the operations of a timber mill at Manawatu, information about Te Aute College, a copy of a petition to the Governor calling for a rehearing of the Maori Land Court with regard to land at Horowhenua, a record of the changing of a girl's name following a death in the family, two lists of members of the Ngati Parewahawaha hapu

There are also letters requesting compensation for livestock and crops taken by troops during a land dispute at Poutu
