Shows four densely packed lanes of Auckland Harbour Bridge. The man talking to his passenger is driving his car along the broad top of the side railing of the bridge.

The bridge was opened to the public in 1959, but became crowded very shortly thereafter. The extension "Nippon clip-on" was begun in 1966 and completed in 1969.
