Taharangi Meeting House, Tawera, Rotorua. Inscription above the door reads "Taharangi. 24 Tihema 1903". Photographed by Albert Percy Godber, in 1931.
Identification of subject and location from Godber's own index at TL 6/1/15 (filed in Photographic Archives), in the 1/2 plate sequence under: C. Carved house (2). Ohinemutu (?). 1931. Box 122). Identified in Cresswell's book "Maori meeting houses of the North Island" as being at Tarewa, Rotorua. See also image at APG-1797-1/2 of Kearoa Meeting House which was shifted from Horohoro to be alongside Taharangi Meeting House circa 1921, before being shifted back to Horohoro at a later date. Kearoa was still alongside Taharangi in 1931 when Godber took the photographs, shown by the bell on a pedestal, visible in both images.
