The cartoon shows a `Humpty-Dumpty' figure representing the rebel tour. He is attatched like a puppet on strings and is being controlled by a South African hand. He is saying, `I'm a free agent I can go to any country I like!'. Refers to the 1986 rebel tour to South Africa.
Exhibited in 'Guts and Glory' an exhibition of rugby cartoons, organised by the New Zealand Cartoon Archive Trust in association with the Alexander Turnbull Library, National Library of New Zealand, at the National Library Gallery, 15 July - 7 November 1999, and then touring until 2001. Curated by Susan Foster.
