Inscriptions: Album page - [Second] pipe organ erected in N.Z. in native church, Paihia.
The 'barrel and finger' organ pictured was built in about 1863 by Bishop, Starr and Richardson of London, England. It was the second organ in this church and was later moved into the Williams Memorial church (also at Paihia). The barrel (on the right of the instrument, leaning against the case) and playing mechanism is now in the care of the NZ Organ Museum Trust.
