Intersection of Customhouse and Jervois Quays with Post Office Square, Wellington, circa 1940. The Chief Post Office is on the left and the Wellington Harbour Board building on the right. The Government Life building is also visible, alongside the Post Office. The building in the centre was a lunch room for tram drivers, a freight depot and a women's restroom. It was later to become Clarrie Gibbons newsagency and tobacconist. Photograph taken by William Hall Raine.
