View looking southeast across Thorndon and Wellington Harbour toward Mount Victoria, Wellington, taken 1877 by James Bragge. Grant Road can be seen in the right foreground. The four small buildings on the corner of Grant Road and Park Street are cottages for armed constabulary. The Princess Hotel is in the centre, on the corner of Molesworth and Murphy Streets. Tinakori Road runs from right to left, where it meets with Hobson Street.
