A view of a stretch of the Waikato River, with a tree fern on the bank in the left foreground, and rushes, probably raupo, in the centre foreground. There is a waka with a triangular sail and four figures in it, and in the distance another waka with a square sail passes by a cliff headland. There is a stand of bush on the shore at the right.
