Rewi Alley, Rewi's son Alan (Duan Shimou), and Dr George Hatem (Ma Haide), China, photographed by an unknown photographer probably some time in the 1960s.
Alan was Rewi Alley's adopted son. George Hatem (1910-1988) was an American born physician who was a pioneer of popular health care in China, and the first foreigner to become a Chinese citizen. He spent all of his working life in China becoming the head of the National Institute of dermatology and venereology.
