Description

Prime Minister Sir Joseph Ward, on the steps of the General Assembly Library building, Wellington, reading his "message to the people of New Zealand" at an official ceremony during which Lord Plunket (to right of Ward) proclaimed Zealand as a dominion. Looks up the stairs, towards Ward. Shows a crowd on the right, and men in military uniform on the left. Photograph taken by the Christchurch Press newspaper on the 26th of September, 1907. Photographer unidentified.
