Shows the 'Halcione', a three-masted barque in full sail, flying a red ensign.
Avon Fine Prints reproduction at C-061-030. Notes accompanying the reproduction state that: "It is believed G W White was at one time employed by the Shaw Savill and Albion Group to paint portraits of their ships".
Walter Turnbull, father of Alexander Turnbull, sailed for England on the Halcione in December 1870. He kept a detailed shipboard diary.
