In the foreground, on gently sloping land, are two small sheds or houses and a larger two-storied house, the latter with a fenced garden with trees. According to a note on the back 'From window in Princess Hotel at top of Molesworth St w. Mrs Bannantyne's later Pynsents in Hobson St. A T. Bothamley'.
