Five people, including tobacconist and hairdresser Louis P Christeson (2nd from right), standing outside Christeson's barber shop on Willis Street in Wellington. Shows the window display and painted window signs: "L P Christeson / Hairdresser / and / Tobacconist" and "Haircutting / 6d". `The Scotsman', a wooden statue of a piper, can be seen through the doorway. Photograph taken circa 1890s, by an unidentified photographer.
Other - Note on back of file print reads: "Louis P Christeson, owner of shop. Died 1953, aged 92. This shop is in the Oriental Hotel building, west side of Willis Street, Wellington. The Oriental Hotel was burnt down on 24 Nov 1901. Mr Christeson had moved before the fire to the next building to the north. A new hotel was built on the Oriental site and named the Carlton Hotel. From left ? 2nd, Mrs Christeson. 5th Mr L P Christeson."
