Description

The diary covers the period 15 Apr 1854-15 Apr 1855 and May 1855. It describes Narbey's visit to Australia and his activities in Taranaki on his return.

Narbey, a French colonist arrived in Akaroa in 1849. In May 1854 he went to Australia to look for gold. He returned to New Zealand in Dec and after a period as a sawyer in Taranaki he returned to Akaroa in Apr 1855.
